During our ongoing art work – portraits of key historical figures – we have learned about Walter Tull.

Walter Tull was both a professional footballer player and a soldier during World War One.

Walter had to give up his career as a footballer to help out in the war, but he then became recognised as the first black officer to lead white British soldiers into battle.

Hearts #WerringtonSTEM05-10-2020 | 10:38:25 | No Comments

Year 6 had a fascinating time exploring a real animal heart during one of our science lessons! Pupils who wished to were able to hold it before Mr Hubbard & Mrs Walker dissected them for further investigation. It gave us a superb insight to the structure of a heart and we were able to make really strong connections to the work we’d done earlier in the term.

Thanks to Miss Turner for obtaining them for us!

Life Cycles of a Plant #WerringtonSTEM05-10-2020 | 09:15:53 | No Comments

In Year 6, we are investigating life cycles. We are starting by looking at the life cycle of a plant (broad bean) and will be observing any changes we notice to our broad bean seeds over the next couple of weeks. We will then compare the life cycle of a plant to that of different animals (including humans).
