Online safety: abusive online behaviours28-11-2018 | 15:15:21 | No Comments

This week we have explored different types of abusive behaviour that can occur online. The main areas we focussed on were:

  • Cyberbullying
  • Threatening behaviour
  • Trolling
  • Hacking accounts
  • Setting up fake profiles
  • Tagging photos with defamatory or negative comments
  • Blackmail

We discussed whether these behaviours were ever acceptable by using a strip of paper, a paperclip and an ‘always, sometimes, never’ scale.

We finished the session by exploring the potential consequences for those who behave abusively online.

This afternoon, in addition to our oil pastel work, the children were given the opportunity (if they wished) of doing a little bit engineering using Lego.

This afternoon, inspired by poetry and other works of art, we created poppy field-inspired oil pastel drawings. There was some awesome work produced and many of the children were able to let their creativity shine. You can view a selection of them below:

Forest School: Periscopes23-11-2018 | 16:12:34 | No Comments

Year 6 had a fabulous time making their periscopes during our Forest School session today.

Part of the session involved some of the children using a knife to cut out parts of the materials they’d brought in.

At the beginning of the session, Mrs Bolton talked about the dangers of knives and the importance using them appropriately.
